Almost half of the homicides recorded in Acre in 2025 are related to the war between factions

In the first seven months of 2025, Acre registered 86 homicides, according to data from the State Civil Police registration panel.

Almost half of the cases, 37 in total, were caused by war between criminal factions that have affected the state for years.

Then appear the homicides motivated by futile reasons, which totaled 23 occurrences. Another 21 cases are still in the investigation phase to define motivation. The records classified as passionate crimes were 2, plus 1 per drunken, 1 by self -defense and 1 for revenge.

Weapons used in crimes

Most homicides were committed with firearms (58.14%), followed by white weapons (26.74%) and other means (15.12%).

Capital concentrates more cases

The capital Rio Branco leads the records, with 47 homicides. Then come Cruzeiro do Sul, with 11 cases, and Epitaciolândia, with 4. Already the municipalities of Capixaba, Plácido de Castro, Porto Acre, Porto Walter, Senator Guiomard and Xapuri have only registered 1 homicide each so far.
