Amid the sanctions applied by the US government, China’s ambassador to Brazil, Zhu Qingqiao, pointed out on Friday, 15, cooperation between the two countries, whose diplomatic relations were established 51 years ago, and reinforced the support of the Asian giant in the face of what he called “unilateral intimidation”.

“China is willing to work together with Brazil to join the broader forces and effectively compensate for the various uncertainties with stability and potential growth of bilateral cooperation,” said Qingqiao in a speech, accompanied by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, at the opening ceremony of the Chinese assembler GWM factory in Iracemápolis, São Paulo.

According to the ambassador, changes never seen in a century are accelerating, severely damaging the order and international rules. On the one hand, he stressed, the world suffers from turbulence and disorder, “with the proliferation of unilateral intimidation.” On the other hand, he compared, the global south grows remarkably and plays a constructive role in peace and promotion of common development. “China and Brazil must take care of respective subjects and strengthen cooperation,” said Zhu Qingqiao.
