Has gaining strength among the faithful the idea of reforming the club’s status

Amid the political and sports chaos faced by the last times, the result of reckless management that generated a debt that exceeds $ 2 billion and, consequently, undermined the quality of the team, the alvinegro fan lost the faith in much of their leaders and decided to roll up the sleeves in search of better days. The kitty to try to pay (or at least decrease) the stadium debt is the most prominent action, but some try to turn Timon inside. It has gained strength among the faithful, especially on social networks, the proposal to change the club’s status.

One of the projects is from the Corinthian Voz Voz, which ended this week a document (which can be conferred) of 69 pages that seeks to update the internal rules of Corinthians, so that they follow the standards of recent laws and more modern governance practices. To gather support for the proposal, the group has launched a petition (which can be checked) to generate a “organized pressure” and give legitimacy to the project, which should be presented later to the Deliberative Council.

Origin

In an interview with Jovem Pan, Fabio*, lawyer and one of the fans who is part of the group, said the collective was born online. “We gathered there, some people were bothered. Corinthians has a mismanagement and, the way it is, there is no way to continue… Then we started to capture people from various areas: economists, lawyers and people who work with marketing and administration.”

With the desire to change the heart team and listen to the fans, the collective came up with the idea of opening a communication channel to send ideas. In just one month, they received more than 600 suggestions to contribute to the club’s improvement. From this, they began to bring the project to life. Among the guiding principles of the proposal are professionalization, morality, decentralization, liability and alternation of power. Next, check out some of the group’s main suggestions:

Audit in the last management

The text provides that if the statute reform is approved, an independent audit is contracted within 30 days. This verification would have to be thoroughly reviewed the last four administrations of the club (Roberto de Andrade, Andrés Sanchez, Duílio Monteiro Alves e), identifying possible flaws and determining the appropriate responsibilities of those involved.

Changes in the electoral process

The proposal suggests important changes in the electoral rules. The mandate for president would be four years old, instead of three. According to Fernando, who is also part of the collective, with a very short period of presidency “it is difficult” to maintain a lasting organization. “When you keep a little longer, you can have more time to put ideas into practice.”

In addition to the change in the duration of the mandate, the proposal also suggests that the minimum association time required to vote fall from five to two years, while the minimum age to exercise vote is reduced to 16 years: “We also brought the reduction of age to 16 years, which is the minimum age to vote in Brazil,” added Fernando. Another modification is on time for financial regularization of defaulting partners, which would go from two to six months before the election.

Advice

The project includes elections for the Guidance Council (Cori), the Fiscal Council and the Ethics and Discipline Commission. In addition, it establishes that the same member cannot dispute more than one of these positions at the same time, avoiding accumulation of functions.

Currently, members of the Deliberative Council are elected by closed plates. The proposal provides for the replacement of this model with a proportional voting system with individual candidacies, expanding the possibility of different currents being represented.

Creation of the “Football Associate” category

The new partner would be entitled to vote and political participation, but not access to the club’s social area. The monthly fee would be more accessible, with the possibility of migrating to other categories in a simplified way.

Inclusion of fans from outside São Paulo

In the proposal, the reserve of 400 tickets per match at the Corinthians Arena for members living in other states is still planned. The idea is to facilitate this audience access to games. For Fabio, it is fair that “have a category that grants political rights, because everyone wants to participate, but it is also necessary to institutionalize a competition between those who live outside. It would be a means of making the club more national and enable access of people who never go to the arena.”

Strengthening of Women’s Football

The female department would have its own budget and guarantees for its permanent existence. The accounts in this area would be presented separately from the other finances of the club. Fabio believes this idea “is a recognition” that needs to happen to women’s football. “What we don’t see today, right? There is no clear structure, for example, how much is the balance of women’s football.”

Transparency Portal

The measure creates an online space to provide financial, budgetary and administrative information from the club. Data of public interest would be released, preserving strategic information that may affect negotiations.

With the proposal (which can be checked at this link: formalized and support being articulated between fans and associates, the Corinthian Voice Collective awaits the next developments in the Deliberative Council. The expectation is that suggestions will be analyzed and can effectively contribute to the modernization of the club status.
