Forest fires in southern Europe: Lower Austria’s fire brigade in action

Podgorica/Athens/Patras – Lower Austrian firefighters have been in use in southern Europe since Thursday to fight for forest fires. As part of the EU civil protection mechanism, the forces are currently facing major challenges in Montenegro and Greece, such as the State Fire Brigade Association on Saturday: “In Montenegro, our emergency services work under the most difficult conditions to protect entire settlements and business buildings from the flames.”
