(UOL/Folhapress) – At least 25 Palestinians died victims of Israeli attacks in Gaza on Saturday (16), with 12 being killed while trying to get food. The information is from the Al Jazeera Network.

Deaths occurred in various regions of the Gaza Strip. The numbers published by Al Jazeera are based on sources information in the medical facilities of Palestinian territory.

Search for humanitarian aid is a frequent cause of death. In a statement issued on Friday (15), the UN stated that the Red Cross Campaign Hospital in Rafah (on the Egyptian border) dealt more than 4,500 injured from May 27 to August 8, and most reported having been injured in food distribution sites.

“Many were injured in cluster or victims of theft or violence immediately after receiving essential food help,” the UN said in a statement.

At least 1,760 Palestinians were killed while seeking help in the same period. Of the total, 994 deaths were near UN and 766 non -militarized places along supply trains routes, according to the International Organization.

“No one should be killed for trying to get help,” the UN said.

Less than half of planned humanitarian aid deliveries come to their destination without interference. Of the 12 humanitarian aid missions that demanded coordination with the Israeli authorities the day before yesterday, only five arrived at their destination without impediments, according to the UN. Also according to the organization, four missions were canceled by the organizers, and three others were prevented at first and only later released.

Lack of food causes mass malnutrition. “Hospitals are having difficulty dealing with increasing malnutrition and many units have been without beds to treat patients,” said UN Stéphane Dujaric spokesman.

Eleven people starved in Gaza in the last 24 hours. The data published by Al Jazeera is from the Ministry of Health of Palestinian territory.
