The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) warns against storms. They may occur in all regions except Bratislava. He therefore issued a first -level warning with preliminary validity until 19.30. SHMI informed about it on his website.

Storms are particularly threatened in the districts of central, southern and eastern Slovakia. Meteorologists expect storms associated with a sharp downpour with intensity up to 30 millimeters in 30 minutes and wind impacts up to 85 kilometers per hour and with hail. “The intensity of accompanying phenomena is common at a given time of year and the area, but it can cause less damage to the extent. Human activity and health may be limited in thunderstorms,” they pointed out.

At the same time, SHMI also published hydrological warnings of the first level for the districts of Topoľčany, Nitra, Galanta, Šaľa, Levice – West, Levice – East, Nové Zámky – South and Rimavská Sobota. They are preliminary until 20.00. In the given areas, experts assume a significant local rise in water levels with the possibility of achieving and exceeding water conditions corresponding to the levels of flood activity due to the expected tidal rainfall in storms.
