The chairman of the democratic minority in the US Senate Chuck Schumer sharply criticized the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, DPA reported on Saturday, TASR writes.

“Donald Trump today spread a red carpet for autocratic villain Vladimir Putin,” he said in Schumer’s statement.

Although the details of the content of the interview between Trump and Putinomvs are still discovering, it seems that the US President has given Russian legitimacy on the international scene and did not require any responsibility – and in exchange he received nothing, Schmer said, “I’m afraid it was not a diplomacy but a clean theater.”

Criticism came from the world too

“Putin got his red carpet, Trump didn’t get anything,” wrote German diplomat Wolfgang Ischinger. “As you might be worried: no ceasefire, no peace. No real progress – clearly 1: 0 for Putin – no new sanctions. For the Ukrainians: nothing. For Europe: deep disappointment,” Ischinger added.

The Lithuanian Minister of Defense, the permanent jackalian, commented on Putin’s warning so that Kiev and his European allies do not “disturb the emerging progress” of peace talks. Putin also recalled that Russian requirements include “a fair balance in the field of security in Europe”. Saganium described these Putin’s words as manipulation, efforts to gain power and control and hidden threats. She recalled that on the day of the summit in Alaska, Russia continued to attack Ukraine ”.

This aspect was also pointed out by Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, who welcomes Trump’s peaceful effort, but warns of Kremlin propaganda.

“The problem is Russian imperialism, not the desire of Ukraine to live freely. … If Putin meant it seriously with peace conversations, he would not attack Ukraine all day,” Lipavský wrote on the network X.

He also received criticism from the media

The Washington Post (WP) also wrote on Saturday that Putin won in Alaska – regardless of the outcome of the negotiations with Trump. According to WP, a visit to Alaska Putin gave the opportunity to increase its impact on Trump and delay the possible introduction of secondary sanctions. WP also noticed that Trump welcomed Putin as a hero, but a few hours later, during their joint performance, the US President was unusually brief and he was depressing.

The American media, which had previously monitored the preparations and the Trump-Putin summit itself in Anchorage, emphasized the lack of details of the progress on the negotiations. According to Axios, “Trump’s conclusion seems to be that this meeting was successful”.

The Hill also wrote that Trump has informed “progress at key points” without specifying what points they were or what differences they persist in the settlement of Ukraine leveling. Bloomberg, in turn, noted that, despite the long interviews, none of the leaders did not provide clear details of his discussions, not even suggesting whether they found a common ground.
