The president of the United States, dismissed an immediate ceasefire between and Ukraine this Saturday (16) and directly asked for a “peace agreement” after returning from the summit in Alaska with his Russian homologist, Vladimir Putin. “Everyone agreed that the best way to end the terrible war between Russia and Ukraine is to reach a peace agreement directly, which would end the war, not a simple ceasefire agreement, which is often not fulfilled,” Trump said in a message on his social network account.

He also confirmed that he would receive the Ukrainian President, In the White House on Monday afternoon, as previously announced. “If all goes well, we will schedule a meeting with President Putin,” added the Republican tycoon, suggesting a tripartite summit between the Russian and Ukrainian leaders, mediated by Washington. “Potentially millions of lives will be saved,” concluded Trump.
