Carlos Alcaraz advanced to the Cincinnati Open 2025 final after defeating German Alexander Zverev 6/4 and 6/3 in the semifinal played on Saturday (16).

The match was interrupted briefly due to a medical emergency in the audience, but the Spaniard maintained the concentration and secured his place in the decision.

With the victory, he equaled the history of direct confrontations against Zverev, now with six wins on each side.

In the other semifinal, the Italian, current number 1 in the world and title defender, beat Frenchman Terence Atmane, João Fonseca’s tormentor in the competition, 7/6 and 6/2. Sinner celebrated the victory on his 24th anniversary and extended his impressive sequence of 26 consecutive hard court wins.

The final between Alcaraz and Sinner will be a reprint of this year’s Roland Garros and Wimbledon finals, as well as the decision in Rome. The confrontation is scheduled for Monday (18).
