One day after rising the podium six times, Brazil secured nine more medals – three of them gold – on the second day of the World Cup Stage of Paralympic Therapy in Santiago (Chile), which serves as preparation for the World Cup in Cairo (Egypt), from 11 to 18 October. The first to win this Saturday (16) was Pernambuco José Arimateia (category up to 97 pounds) that raised 211 kg in the last attempt. Silver and bronze stayed with the Chileans Frank Filio and Nicolas Carrillo, respectively. The competition in Santiago ends this Sunday (17).

The silver stayed with the Amazon Lucas Santos (148 kg) and the bronze with the Venezuelan José Monteiro Ortiz.
In the 45 kg women’s dispute, another debutant of the national team, the paulista Brenda Pepe, secured the gold after raising 95 kg, surpassing the Venezuelan Dilmary Perez (85 kg) who took the silver, and Amália Gonzalez, a bronze medal. Then it was the turn of Minas Gerais Cristiane Alves Reis climb to ensure the top of the podium in the category up to 55kg.
