Election will be held after the impeachment of Augusto Melo; will have 299 voting counselors
The Deliberative Council of the Deliberative will hold on Monday (25.ago.2025) the election to choose the new president of the club. The decision was announced on Saturday (16.2025), after the partners the impeachment of Augusto Melo on August 9.
The election will also define the new Vice-President of the Deliberative Council, a vacant position since the resignation of Roberson de Medeiros. The vote will be attended by 299 counselors.
To run for Corinthians presidency, candidates need to be lifetime counselors or have been elected to the board on at least two different occasions. In addition, they cannot have definitive criminal convictions in the last 8 years.
For the vacancy of vice president of the Deliberative Council, only counselors with mandate in the current management of the board can apply. The club said it will soon disclose the details of form and registration deadlines, as well as the necessary certificates.
So far, only Osmar Stabile has publicly expressed interest in running for the presidency. He was elected vice president at the end of 2023 and has been interimly for the position of president since May 2025.
The winner of the election will have a mandate until the end of 2026, with the possibility of running for reelection, as established in the Corinthians Statute.
From the election, the club will have an officially elected president to conduct the institution for the next 16 months, completing the period that would originally be from Augusto Melo.

“The Presidency of the Sport Club Corinthians Paulista Deliberative Council informs that the elections for the President of the Board will be held on August 25 (replacing Augusto Melo, definitively removed at the General Assembly of Associates held on August 9) and to Vice President of the Deliberative Council (in place of Roberson de Medeiros, who resigned to the position to deal with personal matters).
“For these elections, members of the Deliberative Council will be called – may vote on the lifetime and trien counselors. The mandate of the elected will last until December 2026 (end of the current management of the board and the Council).
“For the presidency of the Board of Executive Officers, any SCCP member may apply for the requirements set forth in paragraph 2 of Article 68 of the Statute: to be a lifetime counselor of the club or to have been elected counselor by the General Assembly at least twice, and to be up to date with all statutory rights.
“For the vice-presidency of the Deliberative Council, only counselors may apply with mandate in the current management of the board.
