Through social networks, the president of the European Commission revealed that he accepted Zelensky’s invitation to be present at the meeting and said that “other European leaders will also join.” And they really got together. Like NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte
A meeting that should be ‘by two’ has become – so far – an ‘eight’ meeting. The US president will have invited European leaders Saturday to be present at the White House in Washington tomorrow, Monday. But this Sunday, the leader of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, reported that he was going to accompany the Ukrainian President on the trip and that other leaders would follow together. And thanked Zelensky for the invitation.
The Ukrainian President takes with him one, which could give more strength to the country’s negotiating position with Donald Trump, who has been intermediate in the peace process between Ukraine and Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
Emmanuel Macron, president of France, and Alexander Stubb, president of Finland, join German chancellor Friedrich Merz, the Italian first minister, Giorgia Meloni, and the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen in the Ukrainian president where he was once not happy: the White House.
A few minutes later it was the turn of NATO Secretary-General, and Swedish Prime Minister ULF Kristersson, and, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, also confirm a presence at the meeting. That is, it is not only Europe that goes with the Ukrainian President.
Through social networks, the president of the European Commission revealed that she accepted Zelensky’s invitation to be present and said that “other European leaders will also join” without moving more names.
This afternoon, I will welcome in Brussels.
Together, we will participate in the Coalition of Willing VTC.
At the request of President Zelenskyy, I will join the meeting with President Trump and other European leaders in the White House tomorrow.

According to the political newspaper, in an advanced news Saturday, Stubb, considered a trump reliable interlocutor, could be present at the meeting and play “a crucial role” to avoid tensions and thus ensure that Europe had a clear voice in negotiations. Before the long trip to the other side of the Atlantic Zelensky should meet Von Der Leyen in Brussels, where they will travel together.
The travel of European leaders takes place a few days after the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Alaska, on 15 August. On this occasion, the US president said he wanted to promote a trilateral meeting with Putin and Zelensky to discuss a possible peace agreement.
Diplomats cited by the politician claim that the strong European presence in Washington “aims to reinforce Kiev’s position” to the leader of the world’s largest power, at a time when the Ukraine war is a crucial moment.
