“According to the unit command, the agents found the body of a woman to fire a gun. Immediately, the area was isolated and the place preserved for the work of the Capital Homicide Police Office,” the corporation said.
Eweline was known by the nickname and was sought by police since July this year. She was born in the city of Tubarão, in Santa Catarina, and became part of the universe of crime after asking for help from traffickers after suffering an attempted femicide in 2022.
She belonged to the Criminal Red Command (CV) faction, but became part of the rival criminal group, the third pure command (TCP). This faction change was considered a betrayal among criminals, and Eweline became a death sworn.
The warning that she would be in the sights of the CV would have come after a violent confrontation that occurred between the two factions at dawn on July 10, in the community of Bateau Mouche, in the west of Rio. The suspicion is that TCP criminals tried to invade the area, but were surprised by the presence of CV members. Residents reported that the night was marked by fire and violent confrontation between the two groups.
On social networks, Eweline Passos used to make videos commenting on her daily life in trafficking, posed by symbol of the faction she was part with her mother and even sent messages to rivals. In one of her latest publications, she even said she was not afraid to die. In a statement, the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police said it is investigating the case.
