At the age of 91, a Slovak actor, entertainer, screenwriter, musician and moderator Oldo Hlaváček died on Sunday in Bratislava. Oldo Hlaváček died in Sunday morning after a longer illness in one of Bratislava’s hospitals.

Oldo Hlaváček was born on January 26, 1934 in Bratislava. The first acting opportunity was given to beetles in the school performance. During his studies he played in the amateur ensemble of the folk scene of the city of Žilina and in the grammar school ring of Maxim Gorky. He then graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava.

He considered his greatest success to meet his wife, who was also a lifelong model. “In the first place, meeting my wife Božka is many years ago. She was for me, she will remain the greatest role forever. As far as work is concerned, she often helped me write and also interpret. These are domestic success, but I advise you before all the other successes I have achieved, ”he confessed to TASR Hlaváček at his 90th anniversary, which he celebrated last year.

In 1963 he became a member of the Drama of the Slovak National Theater (SND). For years he dressed in the hell’s costume in a musical on the glass painted. There was fear of hell in the games, the Karamaz brothers, the beetle in the head, the servant of two gentlemen, the adventure at the Obžinky, the women’s law, the attempt to fly or the tavern under the green tree and in many others.

“I got to the theater in an interesting way, right after the military service. I played very often, especially on the small scene of the SND. Here I experienced the most positive response from the audience, and I considered it one of the greatest successes in my work”Hlaváček revealed.

He found space for his comics, a sense of parody and cartoon mainly on radio and television. He has performed in countless entertainment programs, including the New Year’s Eve. He and his colleague Ivan Krajíček portrayed unforgettable farms in the scenes in the inn Pod Gaštan.
