The mayor of, Dr Furlan (), attacked on Sunday morning (17) with a dandelion a man who is part of the team of journalist Heverson Castro, from Portal do Amapá.
The aggression of the mayor, who occurred during the survey of a work in the capital, was recorded on video.
The recording shows that the journalist approaches Furlan to question him about an alleged delay in the work of the municipal hospital of Macapá, in the northern part of the city. The mayor then lowers Heverson’s microphone and advances with other supporters about a man who would be the journalist’s cameraman.
In a statement, Macapá City Hall called Heverson “blogger” and said he, accompanied by two individuals, “interrupted the official activity, verbally assaulted the mayor and even tried to assault him physically.”
The municipal management also said that two servants were assaulted and provided occurrence at the Women’s Police Station.
“The institution reiterates that it does not tolerate any kind of violence, intimidation or disrespect that hinders the work done daily for the population. The appropriate legal measures are already being taken to ensure that those involved are held responsible and that situations like this do not happen,” said the city.
Photos registered on site also show that the journalist and cameraman would have been detained by the Municipal Guard. Sought to update the situation of those involved, the Amapá Civil Police did not respond until the publication of the report.
