The US Secretary of State today threatened Russia by imposing new sanctions in the event that no agreement was reached, two days after the Alaska Summit between him and him, from which no announcement was made.
“In the end, if we cannot reach an agreement, there will be consequences,” Rubio warned in an interview with the NBC, raising the possibility of “new sanctions” against her.
Rubio: US will continue to try for peace
The US will continue to try to create a scenario to help end Russia’s war in Ukraine, but this may not be possible, Marco Rubio said earlier today.
“If peace cannot be achieved and just the war continues, people will continue to die by thousands … Unfortunately we may end up at this point, but we do not want to end up at this point,” Rubio said in an interview with the CBS show “Face the Nation”.
“There are things discussed at this meeting (Alaska Trump-Putin) that have the potential for important developments, which dynamic to progress,” the US Foreign Minister said, adding that issues to be discussed will include security guarantees for Ukraine.
At the same time he said that both sides should make concessions to reach a peace agreement.
