“Avoid the West 43rd Street and 7th Avenue area in Manhattan … There is a forecast of emergency vehicles and delays in the surrounding area,” the department said in an X -publication (former Twitter).
An air image released online shows a two -block section of the Seventh Avenue, between 42nd and 44th Street, closed to traffic. Usually the area – one of the busiest in the center of Manhattan – is full of vehicles and pedestrians during the morning of a weekday.
Employees of a building in the center of the isolated area of the avenue were told to move away from the windows. Many gathered in the lobby of the building 3 Times Square, on the corner of the 43rd Street. The police department could not be contacted immediately to comment on the incident.
