Centrist leads vote in Bolivia; Second round is likely, says local TV

The first polls of ballot boxes in Bolivia showed the centrist Senator Rodrigo Paz, from the PDC, Christian Democratic Party, leading Sunday’s presidential race (17), with 31.3% of the votes, according to a survey released by Unitel TV.

Former conservative president Jorge “Tuto” Quiroga of the Alianza Libre coalition, appeared in second place, with 27.3% of the votes, according to Unitel, indicating that a second round will probably be needed between the two candidates.

If no presidential candidate obtains more than 40% of the votes with an advantage of at least 10 percentage points, A, scheduled for October 19.
