During Cardiofut, a sports cardiology event with support from Fluminense, which took place this Friday (17), Ganso spoke for the first time about the heart problem he had earlier this year. The player lost the beginning of the season with the club because of the treatment of myocardite.
In the middle of the testimony, the player detailed some processes that passed with Dr. Fabrício Braga, Cardiologist of Fluminense. Goose had not yet given any public account of his fight against myocarditis.

– After six years, this was the seventh year within Fluminense, always doing the side dishes and procedures there in the LPH, with Doctor Fabrício. I was always by car, always alone to do the exams. And, just this year, I said to my wife, “Let’s go with me, you’re not doing anything. Fast, come on.” We got there, started to take the bicycle exam with the mask, feeling well. But then I got there at LPH and Dr. Fabrício, with about ten minutes of examination, said: “To, stop, stop.” I kind of I didn’t understand why, but who was around the room already realized. – In six years, I had never been through that. Despite not having a history of heart problems, Fluminense’s medical department investigated that the most likely reason for the diagnosis was a flu contracted by the athlete in November 2024. This is because any viral infection can lead to a myocarditis.
In these first months of return, doctors will use a portable electrocardiogram to track real -time goose cardiac data. With the device, the medical team will be able to monitor the information at a distance and more completely. Although it is recovered, the Fluminense midfielder will be monitored until the end of his career.
