New SSDs are hardly larger than a SIM card

The miniaturization of data storage continues. If the once ubiquitous 3.5-inch hard drives filled up a volume of up to 387 cm³, this shrank with the 2.5-inch form factor to a maximum of 135 cm³. The first SSDs also appeared in this format, while the memory used today according to M.2 standard require a maximum of 4.4 cm³.
