The Director of Exploration and Production of Petrobras, Sylvia Anjos, defined as a “daily struggle” to obtain the authorization to explore the first well in the FZA-M-59 block licensing process on the equatorial margin.
“Our battle is daily until we can pierce the first well on the equatorial margin. I want to leave an important message to society: we have a history of drilling in the state of Amapá without any accident,” emphasized the director.
“This new well is 500 km from the mouth of the Amazon. Marine chains are parallel to the coast. There are a set of issues that prevent mangroves from being affected in an eventual accident.”
Petrobras waits for the week of 24 August a “window of realization” of the reliability tests of its emergency plan.
The state -owned company has reiterated that delivered to the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) the largest individual emergency plan in the world’s oil industry in the world.
Naval industry
The executive stressed that the current stage of Brazilian oil production “does not allow empty shipyards in the country”.
“We have an exploratory portfolio with another 50 new wells for the five-year period of the current Strategic Plan 2025-29. We have had three discoveries this year. This shows that we have vigor to new platforms and that there is a potential opportunities where partnership with the shipbuilding industry is absolutely necessary.”
Sylvia participated in the 1st Mac Laren One-Stop Shop Day, an event in partnership with FGV Energia, which brings together customers, strategic partners, companies and entities in the sector, such as the Brazilian Navy and Sinaval, Petrobras and Transpetro.
At the event, the Naval Center will be launched, based on the One-Stop Shop concept, which brings together, in a single place, integrated repair and shipbuilding services.
