The Polish Prosecutor’s Office accused a citizen of Belarus of the preparation of a ferral attack in a warehouse in Lublin’s Voivodeship in the east of Poland in the service of an unnamed state. Reuters reported on Monday, TASR writes.
Investigators suspect a 27-year-old man identified as Vitalij S. that he collected warehouse data in July this year, filmed and photographed it, and then handed over this material to representatives of a foreign secret service. He was accused of actions in its favor and preparation of sabotage and diverse activities consisting in burning the warehouse. The man admitted the guilt, he faces up to eight years in prison.
Unknown country
The prosecutor’s office does not mention a specific foreign country with which the accused apparently cooperated. The Reuters report does not even indicate what the warehouse was.
Poland has long claimed that its role in providing help from Ukraine has made it a target of Russian and Belarusian intelligence services. Moscow and Minsk repeatedly reject such allegations.
The Belarusian embassy in Warsaw did not immediately respond to the request for a statement, Reuters said.
