PSP agents beat man to death in Olhão

Two PSP agents were accused of having taken two milemmine men handcuffed to a isolated and beaten place one of them, who died 19 days later at the Faro Hospital in March 2024.

On March 9, 2024, the PSP of Olhão received the communication that disagreements were occurring at the Algalhão Supermarket in Olhão, mid -afternoon.

Two Moroccan citizens, Aissa Ait Aissa and Hassan Ait Rahou, were opening and consuming various foods inside the supermarket.

The agents Pedro B. and Jorge S. From the Olhão squad they moved to the scene and identified the two Moroccan citizen.

Later, early in the evening, PSP was alerted again to the fact that the same individuals were in another supermarket creating disagreements.

According to the prosecution, quoted by the magazine, the PSP agents found the two suspects in the vicinity of the establishment, handled us, took us to an isolated area in Pechão and They beat Aissa aissa leaving him with injuries that eventually took him to death, 19 days later.

The MP maintains that the two agents, “concertedly, struck several blows to the head and face of Aissa Ait Aissa,” which could not defend “since he was handcuffed with his hands behind his back.”

In the court document it can be read that the injuries- hematoma cerebral – They would cause death to Aissa Aita on March 28, after being hospitalized for intensive care at the Faro Hospital.

The prosecution was issued by the Faro Court Attorney’s Office on July 18. Now, the Public Prosecution Service accused the agents of two aggravated sequestration crimes and a crime of qualified homicide and suspended them of their roles.

In the document, quoted by the Saturday, it refers that one cannot stop anyone when a crime of a semi-public nature can be concerned and no complaint is presented-which was the case.
