On the eve of great impact conversations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and a major delegation of European leaders, President Donald Trump presented on Sunday the message he will convey to White House visitors: Zelensky needs to agree with some of the conditions imposed by Russia to the end of the Ukraine war.

“President Zelensky of Ukraine can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if he wants, or can keep fighting,” Trump wrote on his social network account on Sunday night (17). “Remember how it all started. Without Obama’s crime (12 years ago, without a single shot!), And without entering Otan through Ukraine. Some things never change !!!”, he concluded.

The publication stressed the pressure that Zelensky will face on Monday (18), while Trump works to end the conflict. The two conditions he listed – that Ukraine gives in to Crimea, that Russia illegally attached in 2014, and who agrees to never join NATO – are among the conditions established by Vladimir Putin for the end of the war.

Meeting with Leaders of Europe

European leaders who will visit the White House with Zelensky on Monday are worried that the meeting may represent Trump’s pressure on the Ukrainian leader to accept Putin’s conditions at his Alaska summit last week.

They expect more information from Trump about what Russia can grant as part of a peace agreement, including the role the US would play in providing future security guarantees.

“Big day at the White House tomorrow. We never had so many European leaders at the same time. It’s a great honor to receive them !!!” Trump published after his message to Zelensky.
