Meeting is 3 days after a meeting between US president and Putin in Alaska to discuss the war in Ukraine
The president of the United States (Republican Party) receives the Ukrainian President (servant of the people, center) and 7 European leaders in the White House, this Monday (18.2025), for one. The meeting is 3 days after (independent) at Alaska, on Friday (15th).
The meeting between Trump and Zelensky is the first among the 2 leaders since the beginning of the new negotiation cycle to end the war in Ukraine. The president of the presidents in February ended hostile after the American that the Ukrainian “Flirt with World War II”.
Zelensky confirmed, in an X -made on Sunday (17.ago), that he is already in Washington. He said he had expectations to discuss possible ways to end the conflict with Russia.
“We all share a strong desire to end this war quickly and reliably. And peace must be lasting”wrote the Ukrainian President.
“I am confident that we will defend Ukraine, we will guarantee security effectively and that our people will always be grateful to President Trump, to all in the United States and all partners and allies for their support and invaluable assistance. Russia needs to end this war, which it itself has begun. And I hope our joint strength with the United States and our European friends force Russia for true peace.”declared Zelensky.
The meetings to discuss the conflict situation in Ukraine are scheduled to take place at the White House from 13h to 16h (Brasília time). The meetings will be held at different locations in the presidential complex, including the Oval Hall, the State Dining Room, the Cross Hall and the East Room.
The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenand others. They are: the first ministers of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer (Labor Party, Center left); from Germany, Friedrich Merz (Democratic-Christian, Centro-right union); and Italy, Giorgia Meloni (Brothers of Italy, right); the presidents of France, Emmanuel Macron (Renaissance, Centro), and Finland, Alexander Stubb (National Coalition Party, Centro-Law); in addition to Mark RutteSecretary General of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization).
The US Vice President, (Republican Party), must be present at the meeting between Trump and Zelensky.

- 14h – Trump receives the president of Ukraine. They will meet at the Oval Hall, with the presence of the US Vice President;
- 3:15 p.m. – Trump will greet European leaders at the State Dining Salon;
- 3.30 p.m. – Photo of Trump with European leaders at Cross Hall, a large corridor on the 1st floor of the White House;
- 16h – Trump and the European leaders will meet in the East Hall of the White House. Zelensky will also participate.
On Sunday (17.ago), Zelensky stated that negotiations for the end of the war can start “Where the front line is now”in reference to the territories of provinces invaded by Russian troops. Nevertheless, he returned to an agreement to end the conflict.
European leaders seek to end the conflict in Ukraine, but preserving the territorial and sovereignty rights of the Ukrainians. Trump’s expectation, however, is to convince the Ukrainian leader to give land to end the war.
