Donald Trump again receives Zelensky at the White House this Monday (18)

The US President, said on Sunday night that Ukrainian leader Volodimir Zelensky could end the war with Russia “almost immediately” but ruled out the recovery of intense crime or Ukraine entry into NATA.

“The PresidentFrom Ukraine, it can end the war with Russia almost immediately, if you want it, or you can continue fighting, ”Trump published on his Truth Social platform on the eve of a Washington meeting with the innovative agent and European leaders.

“ [Barack] Obama gave way in Crimea (12 years ago, without firing a single shot!), And Ukraine cannot enter NATO. There are things that never change! ”He added.

European leaders will accompany Zelensky at the White House on Monday

After the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska, which ended without concrete announcements, the European leaders came together around the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky, whom they will accompany the White House on Monday (18).

This decision was announced on Sunday, before a video conferencing of the “volunteer coalition”, in which the major European countries participated, the EU, the OTAN and the non -controlling countries, such as Canada, with the objective of examining the general lines of a possible peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

Monday’s meeting in the American capital will be started since the Ukraine Russian invasion began in February 2022. The President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, French President Emmanuel Macron, German Government, Friedrich Merz, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, British Prime Minister Keir Stmerer Finnish President Alexander Stubb and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

The Ukrainian agent praised this European “unity” and pointed out that he is unaware of “exactly” what Putin and Trump talked about in Alaska. “I would like President Trump to give us, me and the European leaders, many details,” he added.

Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff assured that in Alaska Russia has made “some concessions” territorial compared to the five Ukrainian regions in the war. “Great advances with Russia! Be aware!” Trump published this Sunday on her social network social network.

The Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, threatened Russia with new reviews if there is no agreement on Ukraine. After Kiev’s allied Sunday meeting, Macron stated that Putin “does not want peace”, but the “capitulation” of Ukraine.

A statement filed as “ABJETA” lies by Russian diplomacy spokesman Maria Zakharova on Telegram. As for Monday’s meeting in Washington, “our desire is to present a united front between Europeans and Ukrainians” and ask Americans “to what extent” they are willing to contribute to the safety guarantees offered to Ukraine in a possible peace agreement, the French President explained.

Back in Alaska, Trump granted a security guarantee to Kiev similar to article 5 of NATO, although outside the milestone of the Atlantic alliance, which Moscow considers an existential threat to its borders. According to Giorgia Meloni, the goal would be to define “a collective security clause that allows Ukraine to obtain the support of all its partners, including the United States, ready to act in case of a new attack.”

Zelensky qualified as “historic” the American decision to offer his country security guarantees. These, he said, “they must be truly practical, to provide protection on land, air and sea, and develop with the participation of Europe.”

There is no ceasefire in sight

Zelensky and his European allies favored a preliminary ceasefire, but Trump said they preferred an integral peace agreement, although he remained very evasive about the content. The Republican agent also supports a proposal from Russia to strengthen his presence in eastern Ukraine, an employee told the AFP for telephone conversations on Saturday between Trump and European leaders.

According to this source, which requested anonymously, the Russian President is “demanding, in practice, that Ukraine leaves the Donbass” and therefore completely gives in this territory in eastern Ukraine. Russia proposes to freeze the front line in the regions of Donetsk, Kherson, Lugansk and Zaporizehzia (south).

A few months after launching its invasion from Ukraine, Russia proclaimed the annexation of these four Ukrainian regions, although its troops have not completely controlled any of them. So far, Zelensky has rejected any territorial concession.

Tripartite

Trump also presented the possibility of a tripartite summit with Putin and Zelensky if “all going well” when receiving the Ukrainian President, whom he has six months humiliated at the White House Oval Hall in front of television cameras around the world. However, the Ukrainian President expressed his pessimism: “At this time, Russia gave no accusation that the tripartite summit will be realized,” he said.

Three and a half years after the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II, the Russian army occupies approximately 20% of the Ukrainian territory, including almost the entire Lugansk region and much of neighboring Donetsk, where its advancement accelerated.

In the battlefield, as hostilities increase, with mutual fatal attacks with drone. In the early hours of Monday (Sunday night in Brasilia), the Ukrainian authorities recorded 13 injured in Russian attacks against the east Kharkiv regions and Sumy in the Northeast.
