Exchange of words between foreign ministers from both countries included a threat to Kiev
It is a more tense moment of a relationship that was no longer exactly healthy. Hungary and Ukraine went into direct accusations on social network X, stalling the varnish between Kiev and a member state of the European Union and NATO.
It all started after Hungary Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó accused Ukraine of damaging a pipeline with a drone attack.
Through that Russian oil, which continues to reach Hungary despite all the sanctions of the European bloc, in a clear demonstration that Budapest remains almost as a double agent throughout the conflict.
“Ukraine has attacked a pipeline that goes to Hungary, cutting the supply. This last attack on our energy security is revolting and unacceptable,” the minister wrote to his account.
In the same publication he said he had spoken directly to Kremlin, having linked Russia’s deputy energy minister Pavel Sorokin, who informed Hungary that experts are already on the ground to try to solve the problem.
“For three and a half years, Brussels and Kiev have tried to drag Hungary to war with Ukraine. These repeated Ukrainian attacks on our energy supply serves this same purpose. Let me be clear: this is not our war. We have nothing to do with it and, while we are in charge, Hungary will be left out,” added Peter Szijjártó.
Words that clearly show that Hungary seems to be little interested in knowing what will come out of Monday’s meeting between Donald Trump, Volodymyr Zelensky and the European responsible.
“Finally, a warning to Ukrainian decision makers: Hungary electricity plays a vital role in supplying your country…” ended the Hungarian minister.
Irony ukraine
The Foreign Minister of Ukraine pulled the irony to comment on the words of the Hungarian homologist.
Andrii Sybiha has suggested that Hungary “can now send greetings” to Russia in a clear provocation.
The publication of the Ukrainian Minister on Social Network X has not denied or confirmed any allegations of attacks.
“It was Russia, not Ukraine, which began this war and refusal to end it. For years it was told to Hungary that Moscow is not reliable. Nevertheless, Hungary has made every effort to keep his confidence in Russia,” he wrote.
Otherwise, and as there may be below, the publication is made in direct response to Peter Szijjártó
Peter, it is Russia, not Ukraine, who began this war and refuses to end it. Hungary has been told for years that Moscow is an unreliable partner. Despite this, Hungary has made every effort to maintain its reliance on Russia. Even after the full-scale war began. You can now send…
