SAO PAULO (Reuters)-Global mining company BHP has agreed to sell the copper assets it has in Brazil for Corex Holding for up to $ 465 million, the company said with the publication of its results report on Monday.
BHP has entered into a binding deal with Corex to sell the so -called Carajás actives, said BHP, noting that the transaction should be completed in early 2026.
Corex did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“This transaction follows the strategic review of 2024, which concluded that Carajás’ assets would benefit from owners who prioritized operations and develop assets throughout their growth potential,” said BHP.
The active of Carajás produced 9.4 thousand tons of copper in 12 months until June, according to BHP.
Under the agreement, BHP will receive $ 240 million in the conclusion of the business and up to $ 225 million as contingent payments that can start by 2027, based on a series of production and project -related goals.
