Former Minister and former Governor of Ceará () accused the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana (PT), of involvement in sex scandals in Ceará. The speech was given during a birthday of former mayor of Fortaleza Roberto Cláudio (União Brasil) and circulates on social networks.
In the video, Ciro states that Camilo, who is also a former governor of the state, had the help of the mayor of Crateús (CE), Janaína Farias (PT), to “recruit” the girls. Janaína was elected senator second deputy at Camilo’s plate in 2022.
The former minister has already offended Janaína on another occasion, having been ordered to pay $ 52,000 for gender political violence against the mayor, for calling her “bed affairs advisor.” The decision was made by Judge Priscila Faria da Silva, the TJDFT (Court of Justice of the Federal District and Territories). It is up to appeal.

The former minister also criticized the Lula government leader in the House, federal deputy José Guimarães (PT-CE), quoted to run for Senate in 2026.
Ciro is quoted to join the PSDB and may be a candidate for governor for the party next year. The articulation is led by former Senator Tasso Jereissati (PSDB-CE).
The former PDT governor, who played in the presidency four times, has been making a growing approach with right-wing parties in Ceará. He also became a fierce opponent of the Lula administration, as the PDT migrated to the allied base of Governor Elmano de Freitas ().
For the PSDB, which has been experiencing a process of loss of leaders for a few years, the return of the former minister is a visa as a positive reinforcement.
In her social networks, Janaína Farias said she was “cowardly attacked” by Ciro Gomes.
“Once again, I am cowardly attacked by Mr. Ciro Gomes, a figure known for morally assaulting people and, especially, women. Even he has been condemned by such attacks. A misogynist, who increasingly in the face of his political failure, seeks to reach the honor of people, irresponsibly and inconsequential,” said the mayor of Crateús.
By note, Camilo Santana said that Ciro Gomes “will have to be accountable, in another case, like so many others who respond, including condemnation, for trying to tarnish people’s honor.”
Elections 2026
The PSDB management is inclined to defend a Cyrus candidacy for the Ceará government in 2026. In Ceará, Ciro has been broken with the PT since 2022, after an alliance that lasted 16 years.
The agreement imploded when the current Minister of Education, launched Elmano de Freitas as a candidate in the government elections. At the time, Ciro supported the former mayor of Roberto Claudio, who was from the PDT and is now affiliated with. The candidacy was defeated by the PT in the first round.
In May 2025, Ciro appealed for the Union of Oppositions in Ceará e. He is the father of federal deputy André Fernandes (), defeated in 2024 in the second round of the dispute for the Fortaleza City Hall.
Despite the PSDB’s desire that the former minister competes to the Ceará government, Ciro indicated to local allies that intends to support Roberto Claudio for the post.
In case of affiliation, Ciro would return to the PSDB after almost 30 years. He was affiliated to the party from 1990 to 1997. In the period, he was governor of Ceará and Minister of Finance of the Government of Itamar Franco.
The former minister’s historic party also includes tickets for PDS, PMDB, PPS, PSB, PROS and PDT. On several occasions, Cyrus has defined his party trajectory as “a tragedy” in reasons for the various changes of association.
