New York – Five people died of legionnaire disease in the Harlem New York district, 14 more had to be hospitalized. “The Health Department of New York is currently investigating a breakout of legionnaire disease in Central Harlem,” said a statement by the authority on Monday (local time). According to the information, the outbreak of the disease was probably triggered by contaminated cooling towers. As of August 18, there are “108 confirmed cases, five deaths and 14 people who are currently being treated in the hospital,” said the health department of the US metropolis.
