(Republicans) and other governors listed in the right-wing estate in 2026 chose to ignore or minimize the attacks on the weekend by Bolsonarists, from a publication of Rio councilor (), son of (PL), shared by another son of the former president, (PL-SP).
Without citing names, the post ironicly referred to the “democratic governors” who “behave like rats” with opportunistic attitude. Then, on Monday night (18), Carlos made a new publication in the same tone and was once again republished by Eduardo.
“Where are the” democratic governors “who claim the presidency opting with a lot of prudence and sophistication? The country is ending !!! I am very radical I know, because asking chains and goes to the right. It is all normal in relative Brazilian democracy,” he wrote.
Governor interlocutors are seeing an intensification in their children’s radicalized speech and do not believe that there will be retreat on the part of them.
Tarcisio, Romeu Zema (Novo), from Minas Gerais, Ronaldo Caiado (), from Goiás, Eduardo Leite (PSD), from Rio Grande do Sul, and Ratinho Jr. (PSD), from Paraná, avoided entering the public clash, despite the terms used by the members of the clan. They sought to adopt a speech that this is a delicate moment in the family, which could result in public excesses.
The only one who publicly manifested was Zema – identified by pockets as the trigger for Carlos’s attacks. He launched his candidacy last Saturday, in a movement seen as mistaken for the moment.
The event occurred a day after the Supreme Court (STF) marked the trial of the coup plot, which could condemn Bolsonaro over 40 years in jail.
“We on the right have the same proposals. We are fighting for the same goals. So I am surprised and understand. I sympathize with the family that lives a difficult time. We continue to walk together. Even husband and wife disagree, so what to say of different political parties,” said Zema, who launched his presidential candidacy over the weekend.
Another governor who has been a frequent target of Bolsonaro’s children is Tarcisio, who kept his agendas with members of the business community.
He participated, on Saturday (16), a lunch offered to him by Alexandre Bettamio, Co-Head of Global Investment Banking of Bank of America, after a week when he had already participated in three meetings with financial market agents, in a gesture sometimes criticized by Bolsonaro’s children.
This Monday (18), he participated in an infrastructure forum, in which he defended his investment promotion policy from partnerships with the private sector, as well as confirming a presence in another lecture to market agents and a meeting with entrepreneurial Christians promoted by the Lagoinha Alphaville Baptist Church – in terms of Bolsonarists, they are prepared for their presidential campaign.
Tarcisio, however, states that he will be a candidate for reelection in.
The governor decided, according to interlocutors, that he would do no action in response to Bolsonaro’s children. It is Tarcisio’s strategy to never respond to clan attacks and maintain a direct relationship with the former president, who is now under house arrest and who was minister of infrastructure.
Also on Monday, he had a meeting with the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite (PSD), who has already performed as a pre-candidate for the Plateau. THE SheetHe said there are many points of convergence between the two, and that the conversation at this time is not about applications.
“It was a very good conversation. We have many points of convergence in the agendas of our governments. We talked about privatization, concessions, merit bonus to public servants, social programs,” he said.
“Of course, these common points also talk to us about a common vision for the future of Brazil. A project centered dialogue, not about candidacies,” he added.
Governors’ interlocutors say it is not convenient to let the children of Bolsonaro be guided. A part is considering a movement even to help the family’s own campaign – Carlos should be launched through the Senate in Santa Catarina.
The main complaint of the former president’s son that the allies would not be articulating to help approve the amnesty project to convicts by the January 8 coup attacks, is seen with skepticism by groups close to the governors.
They say nothing they do can reverse the scenario today, that the project, which would also amnesty Bolsonaro, will not prosper in the house. The mayor himself, Hugo Motta (Republicans-PB) ,.
Despite their criticisms in the Bolsonaro clan, the right governors follow in the movement by a unified front kind, even though there is more than one candidacy in the countryside.
At least part of them will meet on Tuesday (19) at a dinner promoted by Antonio Rueda (União Brasil) and (), after the act that will officialize the federation of the two parties.
Dinner will be attended by center right governors and presidents of right-wing parties, such as Marcos Pereira (Republicans).
