Speaking to the press after five hours of meetings, Merz has confirmed that Europeans were “well prepared and coordinated” for the appointment against Trump, who realized, according to the German chancellor, that Europe “speaks with one voice.” That was “important” to see it, he added.

The EU waits impatiently to know the details of Monday’s conversations in Washington, which they hope can produce a turn after more than three years of war at its doors. Previously, according to Merz, there will be another videoconference, this time of the coalition of volunteers, with the same objective: to analyze the meeting and discuss the next steps, in which Europe expects to be more included than until now.
