Judge gave Sidney Oliveira 5 days to deposit R $ 25 million, value defined by his income and damage to the public coffers
Sidney Oliveira, owner of, handed over the passport this Monday (18.ago.2025), but did not pay the $ 25 million bail set as one of the conditions for his freedom.
The businessman after the judge revokes his temporary arrest on Friday (15.ago.2025). The decision complied with a request from the MP (Public Prosecution Service), which considered the detention unnecessary for the continuity of investigations.
Despite receiving the request, the magistrate evaluated that the release was still premature, given the severity of the suspicions.
The bail was not immediately paid because it is a high amount, according to interlocutors.
The judge granted a period of 5 days to the deposit and the amount was fixed considering “The very high economic power of the defendants, as well as the concrete gravity and the likely damage to the public coffers”.
The operation also resulted in the arrest of Mario Otavio Gomes, director of Fast Shop, suspected of being involved in the same illicit practices.
Both must also comply with other precautionary measures, such as:
- Use of electronic anklet;
- Night home collection and on weekends;
- prohibition to leave the district;
- monthly attendance to justice;
- and do not maintain contact with investigated or witnesses.
Entrepreneurs on Tuesday (12.ago) during Operation Icarus, which investigates tax frauds and improper reimbursement of ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services) involving the São Paulo Finance Secretariat.
According to the MP, Oliveira is the main articulator of the scheme, who had the collaboration of a tax auditor of the São Paulo Finance Secretariat.
The auditor would have used a company on behalf of his own mother to issue cold invoices, allowing millionaire reimbursements of taxes. Oliveira’s defense denies any illegality.
In a statement, Ultrafarma stated that it is collaborating with the investigations and that “The information conveyed will be properly clarified during the process”.
