Trump announces preparations to meet two (Putin and Zelensky) and then to three (Putin. Zelensky and Trump himself)

It is one of the news out of the White House meeting between European leaders, Zelensky and the US President

Donald Trump, announced on Monday that preparations have begun for a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in a place yet to determine.

“We started the preparations for a meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky. After this meeting, we will have a trilateral meeting – which will be both presidents and me,” Trump said in a publication on the Social Truth.

“Once again, it was a very good step in a war that has been going on for almost four years.” Trump did not specify dates for meetings.

The US president also said that Monday’s meetings focused on safety guarantees for Ukraine, which “would be provided by the various European countries, coordinated with the United States of America.”

“Everyone is very pleased with the possibility of peace between Russia and Ukraine,” Trump wrote in the publication, adding that Vice President Jd Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and special envoy Steve Witkoff are coordinating the details of this meeting with Russia and Ukraine.

The information came after a 40 -minute call between Trump and Putin halfway to the meeting with Zelensky and the European leaders.

Trump had previously nominated that he would speak again to Putin after the round of contacts with Zelensky and Kiev’s European partners.

Monday’s meeting in Washington was summoned by Donald Trump after a summit in Alaska on Friday with the Russian homologist, who did not produce any agreement related to an agreement for the conflict.

In addition to Zelensky, the White House were present German leaders, Friedrich Merz; French, Emmanuel Macron; and British, Keir Strmer. Also present were the chairman of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Chief of Staff Alexander Stubb.

Trump met first with Zelensky in the Oval Room, where he answered with the counterpart to journalists, before sitting with the other leaders.

The US President said on Monday that Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, is ready to accept security guarantees for Ukraine.

“President Putin agrees that Russia must accept security guarantees for Ukraine and this is one of the central points we should take into account and we will take it into this table,” Donald Trump said at the beginning of the White House meeting.
