The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, has intensified his contacts with Ukraine in recent weeks, both at the bilateral and multilateral level to show the support “without fissures” of Spain in a “key moment” in which he is beginning to talk about peace. Ukraine is also for the third consecutive year since the beginning of the Russian invasion, a main beneficiary of humanitarian assistance from Spanish cooperation, which has received 110 million euros, including decentralized cooperation. Only in this month, the minister has participated twice, the last time this morning, in the coalition of volunteers for the security of Ukraine, of which Spain has been part from the first moment and that brings together the European countries and allies most committed to the defense and security of Ukraine. As reported by the Ministry in a statement, at the meeting on Tuesday the unity of all participants has been highlighted, support for President Zelenski in the defense of sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine, the need for a high fire and security guarantees that have to put themselves on the table so that an aggression in the future is not repeated again.
