The Western Hemisphere Office, an American agency linked to the US State Department, said Minister Alexandre de Moraes is “toxic to all legitimate companies and individuals seeking access to the US and its markets.” According to the text, Americans are prohibited from making transactions with Moraes, while nationals from other countries “should act with caution.”
“Alexandre de Moraes is toxic to all companies and legitimate individuals seeking access to the US and their markets. No foreign court can invalidate US sanctions-or save someone from the serious consequences of violating them,” the US government agency said.
On Monday, STF Minister Flávio Dino decided that laws and administrative or judicial orders from other countries do not have effects in Brazil automatically. The order was made in the context of the sanctions imposed by the US government to Moraes within the magnitsky law, US legislation that allows to impose economic restrictions on individuals.
