O US OPEN’s simple key raffle will be held this Thursday (08/21), at 13h (Brasília time). The main key of the tournament will start this Sunday (24/08), marking the first time of the championship with 15 days of competition, allowing the first round to be distributed over three days and allowing the sale of 70 thousand extra tickets.
In the female, the definition of key heads depends on the result of Cincinnati’s final this Monday (18/08). If Polish Iga Swiatek wins the title, she will become head 2, ensuring a possible meeting with ranking leader Aryna Sabalenka, only in the final. Among the main eight subscribers are also the American Coco Gauff, Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys and Amanda Anysimova, as well as Russian Mirra Andreeva and Italian Jasmine Paolini. Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the world’s seventh, will not participate.
In men, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will occupy the ends of the key, while Alexander Zverev and Taylor Fritz will be heads 3 and 4. The list of the main eight also includes Jack Draper, Ben Shelton, Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur.
The Brazilian João Fonseca, current number 44 in the world, will be present in the main key of US Open.
Each main round after round 1 will have two days of matches.
US Open: Award value
The 2025 US Open will have the largest awards in tennis history, distributing a total of $ 90 million (approximately $ 492 million) among all players. This amount exceeds the previous year’s prize, which was US $ 75 million (about R $ 410 million). The tournament runs until September 7 in New York.
Simple key champions will receive $ 5 million (approximately R $ 27.3 million), an increase of 39% over the US $ 3.6 million prize of the last edition. This is also the highest amount ever paid to a Grand Slam winner, surpassing those received by Sinner and Krejcikova in Wimbledon 2025.
In addition to cash awards, all participants-including Qualifying-receive a $ 1,000 (about $ 5,500) and two rooms at the official hotel (or $ 600 a day if they choose another accommodation).
