Wyoming becomes the first state of the US to issue stablecoins

Wyoming governor Mark Gordon announced on Tuesday (19) the release of the Frontier Stable Token (FRNT), which makes the state the first in the US to issue a stable blockchain-based token.

“FRNT is designed to provide safe, transparent and efficient digital transactions for individuals, companies and institutions worldwide. This innovative initiative consolidates Wyoming at the Vanguard of Digital Finance and Blockchain innovation,” wrote the Wyoming Stable Tokens on the X social network.

“For years, we have been the leading state in regulation of, cryptocurrency and digital assets, approving more than 45 pieces of legislation since 2016,” said Gordon, who is also the committee chairman.

The FRNT will be fully backed by US dollars and short -term treasure titles, protected for the benefit of tokens holders, he said.
