CPMI Rapporteur of the INSS says it will insist on the hearing of Carlos Lupi

The rapporteur of the Mixed Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPMI), who, Alfredo Gaspar, said he will maintain the request to listen to Carlos Lupi, former Minister of Social Security, about the case.

In an interview with CNN Backstage, Gaspar revealed that he had already requested the Lupi hearing even before his appointment as a rapporteur of the commission, and intends to insist on the request during CPMI’s work. “Today we will have a meeting with the president of CPMI, Senator Carlos Viana, and from there we will do the schedule of work. We have to have balance,” he said.

ORGANIZATION OF WORKS

The rapporteur reported that a meeting with Senator Carlos Viana, who chairs CPMI, is scheduled to define the schedule of work. Gaspar emphasized the need for balance in investigations, noting that decisions should be made collegiately.

The opposition presented an extensive list of people to be heard by the commission, including former INSS managers and individuals allegedly involved in the investigated irregularities. Among the names cited is a former president of the institute that was dismissed the previous year.
