Do you browse the thicket several times a day? See how your brain changes it

Addiction to watching videos, among others It is quite common on the thicket. Specialists in their study indicated that in China Users spend an average of 151 minutes a day browsing short videos. The study published in 2025 shows the effects of excessive social media viewing.

This study was conducted using the DRIFT Diffusion Model (DDM) cognitive model36 students aged 18 to 24 took part in it. On his attitude you could check how quickly a person makes decisions, including How much evidence does it need to take it, or how much time do reactions with it not related to, among others motor reaction. Before the examination, participants filled the questionnaire in which they were to indicate, for example, whether they experienced symptoms of addiction to watching short videos.

The higher the DDM indicator, the the more able to make decisions faster. The smaller indicator not only slows down the decision -making process, but can also result in greater brain effort. Based on the study, it has been proven that people addicted to watching thickets have a DDM indicator lower than people who do not excessively view this type of platforms.

In addition, people with lower indicator showed less confidence when making decisions related to profit. This was due to the reduced activity of the pre -circle, i.e. the area of the brain responsible for self -reflection and cognitive control.
