Fluminense pays tribute to Fabio for record games in world football

In the duel valid for the return match of the South American round of 16, Fluminense surpassed América de Cali 2-0, on Tuesday (19), and secured their place in the quarterfinals. The confrontation was marked by the feat of goalkeeper Fabio, who became the athlete with more games in the history of football.

the 44 -year -old has reached the 1391 game mark and exceeded Englishman Peter Shilton. After the match, Tricolor paid tribute to the goalkeeper for the historic record.

Fábio and his family members received a physical tribute celebrating the feat, as well as an illustration with the number of matches achieved by the athlete. In addition, the goalkeeper’s uniform in the game against America de Cali had a patch with the beaten brand.

Tricolor returns to the lawns this Saturday (23), for the 21st round of Brasileirão. At 16h (Brasilia), the team faces Red Bull Bragantino, at Cicero de Souza Marques, in Bragança Paulista-SP.
