The wing is a small perennial from the brassica family. It naturally grows in the regions of the Mediterranean and Western Asia. It is doing great in our conditions.
This shrub shows high resistance to frost and heat. In addition, it is suitable for places that are difficult to develop by other species.
The plant grows up to a maximum of 30 cm and impresses with small flowers, usually in shades of pink. It is usually planted on scalles, because it looks good on stones, but also on gravel discounts and heaths. It is worth combining this perennial with a thyme or cloves.
It will also work on walls and in crevices, where there is a small amount of soil. Nothing prevents you from placing this specimen in a pot and put it on the balcony or terrace.

The wing occurs in many species and varieties. They were divided by height, flower color and flowering date. Here is a list of the most interesting plants:
- Opposite wing – measures about 5 cm and releases light pink flowers in March and April;
- Armenian wing – reaches 10 to 15 cm, it is characterized by small leaves and flowers gathering in inflorescences;
- Multi -flower wing – It is 15 to 30 cm, its flowers are intensely pink or purple. It blooms from May to June.
Varieties are recommended for the garden, ie “Warley Rose” and “Persian Carpet”. The first one has a compact habit and blooms in pink. In turn, the second creates a carpet of dense, pink flowers.
The wing can be planted in August. Within this date, it will be able to bloom and root before winter. Prefers sunny, warm and dry position. It grows worse in a shady, moist place.
As for the soil, it feels best on such a sandy-grave, permeable, alkaline. It is worth supplementing it with stone or grit.
We water this plant only during long -term drought. However, we fertilize it once in early spring, using multi -component fertilizer with a low nitrogen content.
