Marco Rubio will lead a commission that will develop security guarantees for Ukraine

The US, Ukraine and European countries will create a joint commission to draw up comprehensive security guarantees for Ukraine, with the possible use of the US Air Force. As on Tuesday, referring to two informed sources, he wrote the Axios web portal, the commission will be led by US Foreign Minister Marco Rubio. Ukrainian and European National Security Advisors will be involved in the work of the Commission and discussions in the coming days, writes TASR.

Axios pointed out that Rubio also holds the post of White House Advisor for National Security in addition to the post of diplomacy chief.

Russian President indicated willingness to examine the concepts of security guarantees

The initiative for the establishment of such a commission came from Monday’s high -level discussions in the White House, attended by US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President of Volodymyr Greenable and key European personalities including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emman Leyen, Italian Prime Minister Giorgie Meloni, Finnish President Alexander Stubba and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.

Axios added that Russian President Vladimir Putin during his meeting with Trump, which took place on Friday, August 16 at Alaska, indicated a willingness to examine the concepts of security guarantees. Putin designed China as one of their possible guarantees.
