Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of criminal prosecution in the Supreme Federal Court (STF) who investigates the attempted coup d’état, articulated along with the president of the first class, Cristiano Zanin, a drawing to avoid any risk of postponement in the trial of Jair Bolsonaro (PL), scheduled to start on September 2. The information was revealed by CNN Brazil.
The effort, internally nicknamed “anti-Vista insurance”, has, according to the broadcaster, the objective of preventing a possible request for a request for the conclusion of the trial to 2026. The request for a view is a prerogative of the ministers to request more time to analyze the case.
For that, I said CNN BrazilZanin, aligned with Moraes, defined an interval of about ten days between the delivery of the final allegations of the parties and the beginning of the trial. The idea was to give time for all ministers to study the details of the case in advance, avoiding the justification of not being ready to vote.

As part of the strategy, Moraes would have made available to colleagues a link with all documents, testimonial videos and evidence gathered throughout the investigation. An advisor near the rapporteur described to the broadcaster the movement as a kind of “homework”, endorsing the pedagogical tone adopted by the minister.
To ensure that the trial is not suspended at the end of the year, Zanin would also have retreated from his initial idea of distributing the five trial sessions throughout September.
Instead, the schedule has been condensed: sessions will take place between days 2 and 12. Thus, even if there is an unexpected request, the 90 -day regimental deadline would expire before the STF recess, enabling the resumption in 2025.

Ministers Moraes, Zanin, Fux, Flavio Dino and Cármen Lúcia are part of the first class. It is expected that the first two sessions will be dedicated exclusively to the oral support of the defenses and the prosecution, starting from the votes from September 9.
