Naturalizations rose by 5.6 percent in the first half of the year

Vienna – The number of naturalizations rose by 5.6 percent in the first half of the year. Citizenship was awarded 11,665 people. Of these, 37.5 percent (4369 people) had a place of residence abroad-almost all of this group were persecuted by the Nazi regime and their descendants. The number of those who were naturalized for other reasons was significantly larger, it was 7313 people – an increase of 5.6 percent.
