The hiring of defender Illia Zabarnyi, 22, by Paris Saint-Germain, at the cost of 63 million euros ($ 403 million), can generate tension in the squad of the French club.
The Ukrainian player arrived in Paris committed to publicly support his country in the war against Russia, who also has a representative on the Parisian team: goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, 26.
According to the Portuguese newspaper A Bola, there would have been a principle of friction between the two after Zabarnyi’s wife, Angelina Zabarnyi, to publicize and later delete a message on social networks. In the text, she wrote that “it is a pity that they cannot be swept from the face of the planet forever,” referring to the Russians.
In another post, he added, “My God, how these scoundrels are offended! There is only one truth: the whole world hates! Terrorists have no right to exist or be well treated.”
Angelina’s publications were widely debated by the French press, as well as their possible repercussions on the PSG cast. In the club, there is concern that the episode can affect the relationship between players and compromise team performance.
Nevertheless, publicly, neither PSG nor the athletes commented on the case.
