The 25-year-old trafficker Gabriel Gomes da Costa, known as “Ratomen”, was killed in confrontation with civil police on Monday (18) in the city of God, west of Rio. The criminal was investigated for involvement in different violent actions and made posts on social networks sporting weapons, luxury drinks and challenging security forces.
In one of the X publications, “Ratomen” wrote that he would only be captured if he was killed:
“Today I showed the ‘most expensive’ that will only catch us to kill yourself (…). We are disposition (…).”
In another record, the trafficker even cursed civil police officers who worked in operation in City of God in May this year:
”(…) Almost me and the ‘most expensive’ we dragged up. Civil FDP”.
According to the investigations, Gabriel da Costa was linked to the Red Command and commanded a point of sale of drugs in neighborhood 13, within the community. In addition to hatred publications, he sported parties with weapons, drinks and designer clothes.
The criminal was also indicted for the death of the Police Officer of Special Resources (Core), José Antônio Lourenço, known as “Mocotó”. The elite agent was shot during an operation against clandestine ice factories in the city of God in May and could not resist the injuries.
On the night of Monday, teams from Core and the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC) triggered an operation after intelligence information about the location of “Ratomen.” According to police, he was armed, reacted to the approach and was eventually killed in the confrontation.
The Civil Police reported that investigations continue to identify and arrest the others involved in the death of police officer José Antônio Lourenço.
