The president of United States, Donald Trump, asked on Wednesday (20) that the director of Federal Reserve Lisa Cook renounce, citing a request from the head of FHFA (Federal Housing Financing Agency) for the Justice Department to investigate her for alleged mortgage fraud.

Representatives of Fed and Cook were not immediately available to respond to a comment request.

“Cook should renounce, now !!!”, Trump wrote in a publication on the Social Truth, in his latest comments designed to reshape the composition of the US Central Bank.

FHFA director Bill Pulte allegations at X on Wednesday, saying that Cook had appointed a condominium in Atlanta as his main residence Dapostomar a loan at her home in Michigan, which she also declared as the main residence.

Pulte also published part of his letter to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, saying that FHFA had obtained Cook’s mortgage documents and citing both June and July 2021 loans.

“She needs to be dismissed because what she did is reason for dismissal,” he wrote in a separate publication.

Trump has repeatedly criticized the Fed and his Chair Jerome Powell for the maintenance of the interest rate and has requested great cuts. He has also flirted with the possibility of dismissing Powell as he tries to reformulate the institution.

This month, he appointed the chairman of the Economic Advisers, Stephen Miran, to fulfill the rest of the term of director Adriana Kugler, who resigned to the position unexpectedly.
