At Wednesday’s hearing with a university teacher Ján D., who faces an indictment of denying and approving the Holocaust, Martin Korčok, head of the Holocaust Museum in Sered, testified. In his testimony, he described the contents of the open letter from the defendant to distort, simplify and deny the Holocaust. The defendant is not present at the hearing.

  • The head of the Holocaust Museum in Seredi testified in the court.
  • The defendant sent a letter distorting and denying the Holocaust.
  • The witness specified the Holocaust process involving deportations and murder.
  • In the past there was a home tour at the defendant.
  • The defendant and the prosecutor filed a opposition against the criminal order.

“They warned me that there were reflections in the media, which also affected the Holocaust Museum in Sered. I was also warned of the source of this information. After I listened to them, I acknowledged my duty to objection to it. I captured a reality that can distort and deny the Holocaust. I also captured the dehonestation and degradation of the suffering and fates of the people who passed through the Sered from 1941 to 1945, ”said the witness of the events.

The witness said he responded to an article entitled “The shocking testimony of a Jewish doctor about the Seredi concentration camp”. Subsequently got a skate from the defendant an open letter in which according to him John D. distorted, simplified and denied the Holocaust. Korčok quoted some statements from the letter, as “the term Holocaust in Seredi is mythology, it is a museum of something that did not exist” Whether “the religion of the so -called Holocaust is realized in the manner of Alice in the Wonders of Wonders”.

At the same time, Korčok refuted the interpretation of the Holocaust of Ján D. argued that the Holocaust was a process that includes an inventory, concentration, deportation and subsequent murder. “About 16,000 people passed through the Sered camp itself, of which the vast majority were part of this process,” added.

University teacher Ján D. faces an indictment of the production and expansion of extremist material, as well as the denying and approval of the Holocaust. In 2019, the teacher sent an open letter to the Head of the Holocaust Museum in Sered Korčok. In a letter, the defendant, for example, claimed that “The Holocaust in Seredi is mythology in violation of the reality, de facto it is a museum of something that did not exist in Sered”. In 2020, the former National Criminal Agency intervened in the defendant’s house as well as in his office at the Technical University of Košice. During the tour Ján D. entertained the computer and several documentary documents.

Last year, a criminal order was issued against John D. by which the Specialized Criminal Court acknowledged him as guilty in all deeds of the indictment. Both the prosecutor and the defendant filed a resistance against this decision, so the main hearing is held.
