From Wednesday (08/20) until Sunday (08/24), the Carioca 1 arena, in the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park, will be the stage of First World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship held in South America.
The tournament is already considered the largest in history in number of participating countries: 78 Nations confirmed presence, gathering More than 650 athletes and members of delegations.
This is just the second time the World Cup has been in a Latin American country-the first was in Cuba in 1971. The latest headquarters on the American continent took place in 2002 in New Orleans.
According to Ricardo Resende, president of the local organizing committee and director general of CBG, the goal is to transform the event not only in the largest, but also in the Best World Cup of All Timeprojecting Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics for millions of spectators inside and outside the country.
The competition is the second in relevance to the sport, losing only to the Olympic Games.

For the first time in history, Brazil arrives with Real Chances of Medals. The search is for an unprecedented medal.
